3. Court 6 of the Subordinate Court houses the Technology Court for the use of hearings of any matter in open Court that have specific technological needs. In this regard, parties have access to the latest audio-visual technology when using the Technology Court, particularly for video conferencing facilities.

4. With the use of technology, the Judiciary is continuing its mission to deliver justice efficiently and expeditiously in the ‘new normal’ environment of the COVID-19 pandemic. It follows the implementation of the Judiciary’s Business Continuity Plans which took effect in March 2020 where court operations were maintained and adapted to remote hearings through the use of video conferencing platforms in response to restrictions posed by the pandemic. In October 2020, the Brunei High Court conducted its first hearing where the Judicial Commissioner presided online from Singapore, with witnesses in Malaysia and counsel in Brunei.
